What gravitational waves are revealing How are gravitational waves detected and what are are we learning from the European Gravitational Observatory. Professor Francesco Fidecaro, Pisa University, Former Vigo Collaborative spokesperson and Former EGO Scientific Director The European Gravitational Observatory is part of a network of gravitational wave detectors, LIGO in the United States, Virgo and GEO in Europe, with KAGRA in Japan. Since April 2019 these instruments have been listening to the universe to catch new signals carried by gravitational waves.
