Coronavirus: The Analysis

COVID-19

PUBLIC LECTURE

As the world confronts the COVID-19 pandemic, Friends heard how Imperial College London is playing a leading role in the national and global effort to respond to the crisis.

Professor Helen Ward, Clinical Professor of Public Health, Imperial College London.

Imperial academics are at the forefront of efforts to advise the public and policymakers, understand the disease, develop new vaccines and create new diagnostic tests. Friends heard an analysis direct from one of these key academics – Professor Helen Ward.

Helen Ward is Clinical Professor of Public Health at Imperial College London and an NIHR Senior Investigator. She has three decades of experience in research, education and applied public health, working on epidemiology and control of sexually transmitted infections and HIV, and the development of participatory approaches in health research.

This year Helen's team worked on the problems of identifying the extent of transmission and potential strategies for keeping the public safe, work that is ongoing and obviously highly important.
