Access and Accessibility


Both lecture theatres of the Sir Alexander Fleming Building, South Kensington campus, Imperial College London can be accessed on the level from the foyer. These are the rooms where Friends public lectures normally take place.

For any special access requirements at other events such as Behind-the-scenes or visits to other organisations, please email the Friends Administrator or call 020 3239 7699 and we will be happy to help.

Notice Regarding Audio/Video Recording

At our events photography, video and audio recording may occur. By entering the event premises and/or your participation in this event you are consenting to the use of your photograph, likeness, video or audio recording in whole or in part, without restriction or limitation for any educational, promotional purpose for distribution in online, printed publications or other media. You release the event sponsor, its trustees, officers, employees, contractors and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing or publication of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or sound recordings.

By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any exhibition, streaming, web casting, television or other publication of these materials regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by the event host or the person or entity designated to do so by the event host. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability and release before entering the event.

Induction Loops

An induction loop system is available in both lecture theatres of the Sir Alexander Fleming Building, South Kensington campus, Imperial College London. These are the rooms where Friends public lectures take place. If you would like to use this facility it is preferable to sit on the centre of the lecture hall where the signal is strongest.

Public Parking at Imperial College London, South Kensington campus

For our public lectures at the South Kensington campus, the on-site car park is open to the public for car and motor cycle parking from 6.00pm until midnight Monday to Friday and from 7.00am until midnight Saturdays and Sundays, subject to availability.

You cannot pre-book spaces for these times, as the car park operates as a normal public car park. If parking on campus is not available please note that parking in the streets surrounding the College is either pay and display or parking meters and is for limited periods only.
