At the event were:

- Susan Searle, CEO of Imperial Innovations Group plc ("Innovations"), set out the progress that has been made since Innovations was floated on the London Stock Exchange by JPMorgan Cazenove in July 2006. Innovations is owned 52 per cent by the College and its business is essentially to exploit intellectual property emanating from the College. It announced its full year results on 7 October 2009.

- John Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of the College Fund, described the steps which Imperial College is taking to build up its Endowment Fund - an area in which, as you know, we lag far behind our US and even some of our UK peer group.

- Judy Beard, Development Director, outlined a proposal under which Alumni and Friends of Imperial College might, if they were to invest successfully in Innovations, assist in the growth of the endowment assets of Imperial College by consigning a proportion of any increase of share value to the endowment fund at the time of sale.

A number of directors of Innovation's spin our companies gave short presentations on their business." Martin Knight, Chief Operating Officer of the College and Chairman of Innovations, introduced them and chaired a questions and answer session. A drinks reception followed.
