On Friday 3 July, Professor Martin Siegert, Co-director of the Grantham Institute, Imperial College London and author of the report What ancient climates tell us about high carbon dioxide concentrations in Earth’s atmosphere (published May 2020), discussed its implications and answer questions from a live audience of Friends.

Data gathered in the geological record inform us about CO2 concentrations on earth and their links to sea levels. How is the data gathered? Is it reliable? What will it tell us about our future? Will the Covid 19 pandemic change our attitude towards science forecasting?

You can view the recording of this first fireside chat here on our YouTube channel.

This NEW live mini-lecture and chat launched Fireside chats with Friends – our very own mini-series over summer to keep you cool! It's part of our Friday with Friends offering to continue sharing knowledge as we plan our 2020/21 events programme.

To keep updated with future chats, make sure you are registered with us to hear about them first!
